Forget royalty (or critiques of overblown hip-hop culture)—Weird Al Yankovic just wants to make sure his leftovers taste delish. The entertainer released his latest parody on Wednesday, July 16, spoofing Lorde’s Grammy Award-winning smash hit “Royals” with the ditty “Foil.”
“I never seem to finish all my food/I always get a doggy bag from the waiter,” the 54-year-old croons. “So I just keep what’s un-chewed/and I take it home save it for later.”
Singing along to the New Zealand native’s catchy chorus, Weird Al then explains that wrapping his meal up may not be such a good idea because of fungus. However, keeping his “flavors sealed in tight” is necessary.
“With aluminum foil (foil)/Never settle for less/That kind of wrap is just the best/To keep your sandwich nice and fresh/Stick it in your cooler (cooler),” he sings. (The video features actors Patton Oswalt, Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant.)
